Kevin Kennedy
Advisor, Victrix Investment Advisors

Hi, and thanks for taking this moment to visit.

Like the numerous trails in and around the Wasatch Mountains, my life has taken a circuitous route to Park City. I was born in Brooklyn and raised in Connecticut, and always wanted to head west. Park City has been home to my wife, daughter, and me since 2007. When I am not serving clients, you might find me hiking, riding my Niner on every trail I can, or skiing and riding at Park City Mountain and the Cottonwoods. Sometimes, you can even find me on TV, in movies, or at an independent film festival enjoying my passion for acting and filmmaking. My clients come from many walks of life, some from the entertainment world or pro sports, but no matter their livelihood, we all share a passion for quality planning for our futures.

I assist my clients through high-quality, independent financial advice. Independent means that I select, from the myriad of investment choices, those which best fit your unique financial situation, goals, and risk tolerance. This is important to you and, therefore, important to me, and means my livelihood depends on your long-term satisfaction with my advice and service.

Maybe you are asking, “Where’s my money?” Your assets will be safely custodied at Charles Schwab & Co. Schwab has the reputation and qualities you are looking for: high-quality service, financial strength, best-in-class technology, and low costs.

What can you expect? Our relationship progresses at your comfort pace. Generally, in our first meeting, we get to know each other. In the second meeting, we develop your financial plan. At your request, we can develop a formal financial plan through MoneyGuidePro, my financial planning software. In the third meeting, we discuss recommendations and/or implement the agreed upon actions. We will then meet as frequently, or infrequently, as you like. I will continuously monitor your portfolio and am available for your questions or concerns.

Please take the time to contact me at your convenience to learn more. I am looking forward to getting to know you.

Thank you again for your time.

Will Thompson | CFA, CFP®, AIF®
Founder, Victrix Investment Advisors

Will Thompson’s interest in investing started at an early age with baseball cards.  He did not collect his favorite players or team but instead read the box scores in the newspaper and studied the price guide to compare the season the players were having to the price of their cards.  Ever the analyst, Will then traded to the neighborhood kids their favorite players in return for undervalued cards.

As he grew out of baseball cards, he started reading books on business in the eighth grade.  He majored in Finance at the University of Notre Dame, where he discovered the investment philosophy of Warren Buffett.  This set his professional direction.

Will started in the investment industry with two very valuable learning experiences as a junior analyst: for Trinity Capital of Jacksonville and for Courage Capital; both funds managed concentrated portfolios with a Value bent.

After earning his M.B.A from Vanderbilt University with a concentration in Finance and Accounting, he spent four years as an analyst for Sterling Capital Management in Charlotte, North Carolina.  He conducted research for the firm’s concentrated Small, SMID, and Mid Cap Value products, and earned his Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA®) designation during this period.

In 2006, he began working for Jove Partners, a long/short operational activist hedge fund based in New York City, and later worked for Accenture, doing corporate finance and management consulting.

In 2012, Will founded Victrix Investment Advisors and earned his Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) designation.  He develops portfolios and designs sophisticated financial planning solutions for clients.

Will now lives in Jupiter, Florida with his wife, 16-year-old son, and 9-year-old daughter. His son is already showing an interest in investing after a birthday present of a framed Disney stock certificate.

Victrix Investment Advisors team members have the CFP®, CFA® charter, and AIF® designations. These qualifications refer to three specialties within wealth management: financial planning, security analysis, and investment fiduciaries. It is uncommon to find all three specialties available within the same firm.

  • The CFP® designation is the most recognized credential in comprehensive financial planning.
  • CFA® charterholders are qualified securities analysts who are trained to construct investment portfolios.  A CFA’s skill set reduces the need to outsource portfolio management to higher fee, actively-managed mutual funds.
  • Advisors with their CPWA® designation offer clients the most advanced knowledge and techniques to address the sophisticated needs of clients through a holistic and multidisciplinary approach.
  • AIF® holders help 401(k) and 403(b) plan trustees implement policies, procedures, and best practices that can enhance returns.

For clients of Victrix, the in-house expertise of CFP®, CFA, CPWA®, and AIF® specialists is a key benefit.

We value long term relationships, we’re guessing you do too.
