Victrix Investment Advisors
Frequently Asked Questions
What types of accounts do you manage?
We are happy to manage your individual, joint, or trust accounts. These types of accounts include your brokerage account, Traditional IRA, and Roth IRA.
How much should I invest in Victrix?
Victrix is a wonderful solution for that portion of your investable assets for which you seek equity out performance. The appropriate portion varies based on your specific circumstances and needs. We will work with you to determine what is right for you.
Funds invested with us should not serve as a surrogate for your checking account. Instead, clients should limit their investment to that portion of their total assets that can be committed for our investment time horizon, at least three years. Over such a period of time we expect the prices of our portfolio securities to more closely reflect their underlying intrinsic values.
Is there a minimum account size?
We happily serve all different size clients but consider accounts below $250,000 small.
What is your asset class mandate?
Client portfolios are “go anywhere” but will not own real assets, commodities, or futures, and will not make private equity investments, use margin debt, or short sell securities. We merely buy and sell individual stocks, bonds, or mutual funds.
What is the fee structure and how are fees paid?
Victrix's annual investment management fee is paid in arrears on a calendar quarterly basis (e.g. January 1, April 1, July 1, and October 1) and calculated based on a percentage of the market value of your assets under management on the last trading day of the prior calendar month. Upon your written approval, Victrix's management fees are debited directly from your account on a quarterly basis.
The fee levels are set to ensure a fair return for our investors and that more of our time is devoted to markets than to marketing.
Many firms and mutual funds try to hide their fees from clients. Each client receives a quarterly statement detailing our management fee. There are no sales charges for investing with us and there are no penalties for withdrawing your capital. We do not receive any of the brokerage commissions associated with the securities transactions in your accounts.
Can you “leave” with my money?
No. Your assets are held by the custodian of your choosing (Interactive Brokers is our recommended custodian). When establishing your account with the custodian, you set a limit with the custodian as to how much Victrix can withdraw from your account quarterly.
Who is your recommended custodian?
We recommend that clients use Interactive Brokers (IB) for their custodian. IB offers low commissions, excellent execution, and fantastic portfolio management tools.
Are you registered with financial regulators?
Yes, Victrix is registered with all the applicable regulatory bodies. Our Form ADV, filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission, can be found at advisorinfo.sec.gov.
